Studied on the methicillin resistance and R-plasmid of Staphylococcus

Abstract
|

|
Susceptibilities of S. aureus to methicillin and to other
antimicrobial agent were tested using 100 strains isolated patient during the period of September 2000 to Febuary 2001. Also studies were confirm to and plasmid profiles. By the disk diffusion test, 94% of S. aureus were resistant to penicillin G and 22% respectively were resistant to oxacillin. 13% of S.aureus were multiple resistant to 7 antimicrobial agent. Over 60% were resistant to 3 antimicrobial agent. MIC of methicillin against MRSA were relatively higher, 32-128㎍/㎖ and MSSA were 2-8㎍/㎖. Isolated MRSA had 1 plasmid DNA elements and MSSA had not plasmid DNA element.
